Review of Sunbutter a Peanut Butter Alternative

Let me introduce you to our friend, Sunbutter. Sunbutter is a favorite in our household. We basically use it in anyway you would use peanut butter. We use it on sandwiches with jelly and sandwiches with creamed honey (if you haven't tried the latter, I'd highly recommend it!). We put it on pancakes with maple syrup. We put it on bananas. We use it to make thai food. Here is a wonderful thai recipe that uses sunbutter instead of peanut butter (delish!). I'm telling you, my kids adore the stuff. It is gluten and peanut free. They make it in a facility that is dedicated to be tree nut and peanut free. So, for those of you with serious peanut allergies, this product is golden.  It is made on equipment that also roasts soy.  My favorite one they make is called "creamy" because it doesn't separate from the oil like the organic variety. This is what their website has to say about it:

SunButter® is a great tasting alternative to peanut butter. A seed butter that is made in the USA from specially roasted sunflower seeds, SunButter® products are completely peanut-free, tree-nut free, and gluten-free.
All SunButter® varieties are processed in a peanut-free and tree-nut free facility, making them an excellent choice for people with peanut allergies or gluten intolerance.
SunButter® is also a great source of protein, and a healthy alternative to peanut butter:
  • One-third less saturated fat
  • 27 percent of a day's recommended allowance of vitamin E in one serving
  • More iron
  • More fiber
Available in a variety of flavors, including an organic alternative to peanut butter, there's a SunButter®product to brighten your day!

Unfortunately it is not as cheap as peanut butter. I bought mine off of Amazon for basically $5 per jar, when I bought 6 jars (a fair price).  I found a place to request coupons here.
